Sheinagh Saraswati Anderson

In Celtic wisdom the sacred is as present on Earth as it is in heaven, as immanent as it is transcendent, as human as it is divine, as physical as it is spiritual.” (Philip Newell, 2021).

My name, Sheinagh (Gaelic: Sheena), translates as “God is Gracious” and I am an Anam Cara (Celtic: A Friend of the Soul). I was born in Scotland into Celtic spirituality, a way of being and seeing all of creation as spirit-filled and sacred. As a Scottish Celt, I view life as a spiritual journey of seeking life’s deeper meaning and sacred purpose, and all the events and experiences along the life-path as opportunities for personal and spiritual growth. In this light, as challenging or as wondrous as an experience might seem in the immediacy of a moment, if we were to take the time to pause and reflect upon our experiences and our responses to them, we might gain deep wisdom that in time could strengthen, protect, and guide us as we continue along our life path.

In spiritual accompaniment we reflect upon an experience, contemplate a circumstance, bring insight to actions taken and their consequences so that we might re-affirm our intention to align with spirit and with the highest good of all.  Spiritual direction invites our engagement in Holy Imagination and Sacred Curiosity so that we might explore the deeper questions of our heart, those that move us closer to insight, wisdom and understanding, compassion and forgiveness, peace and purpose, happiness, healing, and love.

I live in Vancouver, Canada and offer Spiritual Accompaniment, Guidance and Counsel. I have a PhD in Education with a focus on art as spiritual practice and self-inquiry. I am a Lay Buddhist practitioner of meditation, mindfulness, and insight, a Buddhist grief counsellor, and a Yogic teacher of Voice meditation, Dream Yoga, and self-inquiry. I draw from the World Wisdom traditions including Contemplative Christian Mystic traditions and contemplative practices of Visio Divina, Lectio Divina, Música Divina, Poetica Divina, Chant, Prayer, and Silence. I completed Pacific Jubilee Spiritual Direction Formation in 2022.

It is my honour and joy to offer Spiritual Accompaniment and Guidance on your Spiritual Path. I am available on Zoom and work with all time zones around the world. I also offer a sliding scale fee structure.
