This is the first, wildest and wisest thing I know,
that the soul exists,
and that it is built entirely out of attentiveness

As a Spiritual Companion

I find it hard to imagine my own life without the continuing companionship of a spiritual director, which I have had for many years. Here, I have been able to tread the crooked path to my own heart, through Divine Mystery, in a way that is all my own, where everything is welcome, and where the inner voice can be heard. Being invited to accompany another on their path of discovery and healing, finding and exploring their own stories, is a precious privilege. These conversations of deep attention inevitably bring light to life's struggles and contradictions, and bit-by-bit nudge open the doors of aliveness.

I participated in SoulGuiding in 2008 and have been involved in leadership with the program since 2016. I was born into the Mennonite faith tradition and currently find nurture and rhythm in the Anglican community. These days I spend as much time as I can with nature in all its forms, dance in the clouds in a glider, offer hospitality at home with my husband, play and deliberate with nieces and nephews, and navigate transition out of a career in family medicine.

I offer spiritual accompaniment either in person in the Hamilton vicinity, or virtually. I also work with health care and religious groups to develop retreats and curriculum on self-care, resilience, leadership, end of life planning and spiritual accompaniment.
