Through the Green Door: Experiencing Plant Life Communication - PART II
ONLINE WORKSHOP SERIES: with Rosemary Dzus
6 Sundays, April 28, May 26, June 23, July 28, August 25, September 29, 2024
If you have studied the Enneagram, you will be familiar with the idea that our compulsions are part of our disguise to protect the vulnerable parts of ourselves, and that part of the work of the Enneagram is to become familiar with our compulsions and to develop the ability to become aware of them in our interactions, to live in the present moment and to respond to the world from our deeper selves.
Consider now the human generated modern world in which we live: consider the idea that it forms a barrier between us and nature through the many multitudes of objects that are manufactured, the commodification of every aspect of life, the extraction of minerals and plant materials that humans grab without careful consideration or real need. All of these processes and phenomena form a barrier between ourselves and spirit in the world around us.
Becoming more familiar with spirit moving within us changes our perception of the world, helps us see spirit in the world around us. Everything that lives is connected, and plants, for example, can become teachers in our spiritual development. To seek out plants and learn to listen to and communicate with them can bring us to a place of greater care and greater awareness.
Through the Green Door workshop series is a journey of exploration in communicating with the world of plants. If you are intrigued by this idea, or have received messages from plants, this workshop series is for you. It is a time in the world when it is becoming more and more important for us to expand our spiritual lives and deepen our sense of connection to our surroundings. The plants are waiting for us to open to their wisdom. Come and explore the potential and practice of plant communication. Over six sessions, through meditation and experiential work, we will seek out the plant mentors in our midst, and see what they might have to say to us.
Workshops will take place on Zoom. We will be working with commonly known plants. Please ensure that you have a green space that you can visit during these sessions.
SUPPLIES NEEDED: A journal, a sketchbook, pencil or pen, sharpener, and a gift for the plant (tobacco, cornmeal, water are all good).
