Gathering Words for Winter V

Online with Tim Scorer

Six Tuesdays:  October 22 – November 26, 2024

6:00 – 8:00 pm Pacific Time

Now that the fall harvest is in, we can give ourselves to the winter months of Earth rest. Our bodies will be sustained through the time of hibernation, but what of our souls? What sustenance will we choose for the season when the ancient ones call us into the world where story, myth and poetry are a sustaining power? Let’s take time these six Tuesday evenings to gather poems to take with us this winter. Let’s follow the threads of six themes and see what poets show themselves as our guides for these colder months. Let’s prepare to be surprised by the poetic instincts that rise in us when we take time to read poetry, share insights, and gather words for winter. No previous participation in poetry groups is required.

Poems for each Tuesday evening will be sent out ahead of each session.

This event is offered through the partnership of Pacific Jubilee and Naramata Centre

The cost for six sessions via Zoom is $224. Book now and receive a 20% discount. Offer valid until October 31, 2024.

BURSARY AVAILABLE: The Naramata Centre Heartwood Bursary is available for most programs, based on financial need. If cost is a barrier to participating in this program, please consider applying for the bursary. Click here to apply

Spiritual accompaniment is at the heart of Tim’s practice: with individuals, with spiritual companions and elders, with groups and faith communities, in contemplative retreats, and now with lovers of poetry. His grounding is through active engagement with five grandchildren, gardening on a hillside on Bowen Island, participation in the life of a faith community, and deepening into the loving 58-year partnership he enjoys with Donna.
